Developing Leadership

Communication Skills

Afternoon Session

Negotiating Skills
We all negotiate all of the time, both at work and in the home. Doctors will learn to predict behaviour and anticipate moves in order to create a climate of agreement in which all parties feel satisfied with outcomes. There will be short role plays enabling the practice of these skills in a safe environment

Managing Change
The pace of change is relentless in the modern NHS and can leave unprepared individuals feeling overwhelmed and confused. Doctors will learn the value of opportunities for improvement and how to manage them successfully to be a ‘Changemaster’ rather than a ‘Changevictim’
